Our Dacor double ovens suddenly went dark a few days before Christmas! In the late afternoon. Sam from Visak’s Appliance repair took my call despite being technically “off work” and having dinner with his family. He attempted to help me troubleshoot over the telephone in case there might be a “quick fix” to the problem such as a blown circuit breaker and how to reset it safely ourselves. When the quick fix over the phone didn’t work, Sam fit us into his schedule for a house call. Sam was so knowledgeable and thorough. Sam investigated the Dacor control panel, relay board and control board . When not finding a problem with the ovens, or the updated circuit breaker panel, Sam noticed that the Ovens themselves were not listed on the updated circuit breaker panel. Since we have a circa 1912 craftsman, he asked if we had a fuse panel box outside. I showed him our fuse panel and he found that the ovens were connected to 60/40 fuses encased in large black main panels. He removed these main panels, checked for live voltage and discovered the origin of the problem.. He went to Orchard Supply and purchased these special 60/40 fuses and swapped them out! Our Ovens are back up and running, Sam taught us so much about our ovens, our electric supply to our ovens and how to problem solve in a step by step manner. Sam is a outstanding technician, whip Smart, thorough and extremely thoughtful! A gem!
